Configuring Unbound
The Unbound DNS server, from NLnet Labs, is a dedicated caching recursive DNS resolver, that comes with QNAME minimization enabled by default.
The configuration files reside in the /etc/unbound
directory. To disable QNAME minimization, add the following to the unbound.conf
file,
or optionally, to one of the files included by that file, typically in the /etc/unbound/unbound.conf.d
directory.
server:
qname-minimisation: no
You could also add the qname-minimisation
line to an existing server:
section.
